Hemlock Lane Designs specializes in designing and building handmade furniture. We have years of experience building functional, unique pieces tailored to our customer's desires and preferred style.
Repurposing:
Stop by the shop to see some of the ingenious creations including a custom pantry from a general store screen door, a table from an 1840s grist wheel belt wheel, a kitchen bar from a 1700s woodworker’s bench and many other reposed architectural elements.
Repairs and Refinishing:
Hemlock Lane designs can strip and refinish household items as well as repair joinery and put items back together such as chairs and tabletops. If you have a cherished item that needs to be brought back to its glory days have the team look at the item.

Custom made TV lift cabinet piece with storage. The slate on the maple sideboard was a piece of antique salvaged school house slate chalkboard.

Repurposed church pew turned into farmhouse entryway bench.
Repurposed table set. The base is made with wood concrete mold used to make street light foundations for the interstate systems in the late 1940s. The wheel used for the top is a belt wheel from the Sarah Furnace Grist Mill in Blair county. The stools are hand built by us.
Repurposed enamelled sink top that is now functioning with a custom built base as a plant and potting stand.

Refinished Furniture Gallery
Refinished vanity and upholstered chair set. This set was originally painted a dark brown and black and we refinished it to give a bright, clean finish.
Refinished chest of drawers from Karge's furniture. We updated this piece by going with an antiqued gray finish and added a bleached top with vintage style mercury glass knobs.
This was a repurposed ice box that we also completely refinished. We added a new stainless steel bin, new plumbing, and stripped and bleached it with a lime wash finish.
Refinished dresser that was stripped to reveal the grain. We sanded, cleaned and painted it with "Black Noir" by Farmhouse Paints.
